HEY Day!

On Saturday May 28 we joined our friends from Youth VOC for their event “Help Every Youth Day” or “HEY Day”. The event was held at Park Royal in West Vancouver and featured 15 of Canada’s leading volunteer organizations. We were lucky enough to squeak our way in last minute exhibiting beside such notable organizations as Me to We, CUSO -VSO, CIDA and the David Suzuki Foundation.

HEY Day was created by youth hoping to inspire other youth to volunteer. Whether it be local or abroad, the message was clear to Vancouver’s youth, get out, volunteer and help facilitate a positive change in our world.

We were joined at the booth by our friend Chelsea Peters, the International Coordinator for Atin Afrika Foundation. Currently Atin Afrika Foundation (AAF) is creating a shelter for street-kids living in Lira, Uganda. AAF is committed to providing access to education and psychosocial support, teaching life and personal growth skills, as well as giving love and personal attention to each individual child. It’s their intention that each child walk away from AAF with the skills and education as well as the hope and inspiration to achieve their potential and live a better life.

The event was a great opportunity for All Access Volunteers & HOLA to gain much needed exposure and awareness in the Vancouver area. We would like to thank Donya Jalali and her entire team from Youth VOC for all the effort in putting together such a wonderful event raising the level of awareness and hopefully inspiring young minds in the Vancouver area. See you next year!
